When asked to define the “why” behind Higher Health Foundation, founder Zack Vondrak realized it was simple all along: to embrace being, and to help others do the same.

 

For too long, Zack’s life had been defined by an escape reflex. Avoiding difficult thoughts and burying trauma was his default, and with the instinct to “run” came lost opportunities for connection. In distancing himself from himself, he distanced himself from others. Eventually, though, Zack realized that connection was everything. 

 

After years of personal and professional ventures, Zack yearned to find a way to deepen his own growth and promote wellness for his community beyond the physical body. He wanted to help people find mental, spiritual, and financial wellbeing, too, and to find themselves and others in the process.

 

Zack’s intention behind Higher Health Foundation was to allow people to bear witness to the complexity of humanity–to see themselves reflected back to them in expected places and to find empathy where they didn’t think it was possible. It was his hope that he could help people break trauma cycles and confront pain in themselves and others with radical love.

 

More than anything, he wanted his own struggles to translate to a greater purpose. For all the years he’d spent running away, he wanted to spend that many more giving back. Today, Higher Health Foundation aims to build community, increase impact, and promote action.
